Job Summary

Asan emergency clinician at Animal Referral Center you are able to practice progressive emergency medicine in a supportive, collaborative environment.  Our emergency service functions 24/7and collaborates with specialists in surgery, emergency & critical care, radiology, dermatology and ophthalmology. Our team of doctors share a desire to provide high level care to our patients and remarkable service to our clients and referring community.  As we grow our team we hope to find an emergency clinician who appreciates a mission driven environment as much as we do.

 

Emergency Medicine at the Animal Referral Center

Our emergency doctors perform advanced procedures and have access to all the equipment in the hospital such as ultrasound, scopes, wound VAC, Vapotherm, Telemetry ECG and CT.  Our surgical service is on call 24/7 but for emergency doctors who enjoy surgery, there are opportunities for those clinicians to perform surgical procedures.  We have a mentorship program for new graduate veterinarians and a strong focus on teaching and CE, which includes ongoing in-house CE, M&M rounds and journal club as well as a generous allowance for annual conference attendance.

 

Our emergency support team is experienced and highly competent.  They work efficiently and are able to serve as our doctor’s eyes and ears. They skillfully juggle a busy caseload by prioritizing appropriately, anticipating both patient and doctor needs, and communicating with clients.  Our emergency doctors can rely heavily on their support team.

 

Qualifications and Desired Characteristics

●     For non-mentorship positions at least one year of experience is required

●     Desire to remain innovative in the field of veterinary emergency medicine

●     Communication style that conveys confidence and compassion

●     Willingness to build strong, trusting relationships with referring practices

●     Ability to work efficiently with a skilled, dedicated support staff

●     Self-awareness and an appreciation for ones role in team dynamics

●     Interest in community involvement and service


 

Salary and Benefits

●       Production based pay of 23%-25%

●       Guaranteed per shift minimum of $550

●       Overnight shift differential $50/shift paid in addition to production

●      Moving expense reimbursement up to $5,000

●      Holiday premium in addition to production

●      Shift premium for extra shifts picked up beyond regular schedule
